Safe and Qualified Child Care in the Colorado Springs, CO Area

Safe and Qualified Child Care in the Colorado Springs, CO Area

Q: HOW DO YOU ENSURE QUALITY?

QUALITY CONTROL AND ACCOUNTABILITY

These issues are absolutely critical to the success of Creative Play/Adventure Clubs' programs including on-site school age and preschool programs. We go above and beyond the minimum requirements to ensure quality.

LICENSE

The governing body that provides our childcare license is The Colorado Department of Human Services. Their inspections are thorough and ensure that the minimum standards are met in Programming and Environment as well as relating issues of Medication, Health and Fire safety.

ACCREDITATION CHECKLISTS AND SELF EVALUATIONS

Many tools are available to rate the quality of preschool and school age programs. We utilize the following tools: Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS) and School Age Childcare Environmental Rating Scale (SACERS) both produced by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to make continued improvements.

ADVISORY MEETINGS

Fall is the time for Advisory Meetings at all of the Before and After On-site Programs.
This meeting is for the purpose of gathering a small group of representatives (Area Director, Director, School Principal, Teacher Representative and Parents) with an agenda beginning with the history of the Adventure Club and Mission Statement. Other items presented by the Area Director are- Snow Policy, Medication Policy, Daily Schedules Scholarship applications. The meetings are conducted in the school teacher's lounge, cafeteria or right in our Adventure Club space. This is a professional meeting and children are not included.

ANNUAL PROGRAM EVALUATIONS BY FAMILIES

Though we converse with parents on a daily basis, spring time brings an opportunity for program participants to complete a printed survey which rates our program. This instrument allows families to appraise staff competency and overall satisfaction. The children give input and the comments are implemented into our continued improvement plans.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Accountability has a different meaning for Adventure Club than for the School District. Our responsibility for the children, their whereabouts and well-being take top priority. We have dependable systems in place to record and track each child's attendance, absences and location while in our care. We take pride in communicating with school and parents for the welfare of the children.
